The Bart has the f and the t with the middle bar aligned. The typical dial has the f in the middle like the Bart but the t tick is not aligned and is high on the t. Basically it is easier to spot a a Bart by the f t than trying to spot the crown shape. Bi...

Yes it does seem to be a bit longer but the main idea was to distinguish the the Bart from the normal dial. For me it the remain the f t as the easiest way to spot the difference. Bill
