Thanks Michael for your very comprehensive report on these "new" OffShores. I particularly like

the Elephant nickname, very appropriate and delicious color combination.

Now that Audemars Piguet's new collection of 42mm Royal Oak Offshore watches has been on the market for over a year, it is due time we take a closer look at this inspiring luxury sports timepiece. Originally launched in 1993, the standard Royal Oak Offsho...

Terrific, detailed review

Terrific, detailed review. I love each and every improvement over the prior model, and personally, I much prefer the 42mm RO offshore as compared to the 44mm version. I see these improvements as shifting the 42mm RO offshore further toward the luxury side...

I understand your sentiments John.

That gasket is so integral in the Offshore's design, but maybe there is some room to reduce it. No doubt that the 3126 is view worthy, and the open back does add luxury in this regard. Thanks for reading the article.

Thanks Chuck. It is a good every day option.

The dial on this one is very discreet, and in a way subdues the chunky case size. Hope all is well your way :-)

LOVE IT!

For me, this new Grey model, as well as the very first ROO (on bracelet, blue dial) are the nicest ROOs ever.

I'll admit to forgetting how nice these "basic" Offshores are.

And with the refinements on these 26470s, they really can be an essential piece of a small collection.

Another great write-up

Thanks for the great review Michael. I started getting into watches last year and it's articles like these that keep me coming back to PuristSPro for my education ;)

I appreciate your kind words.

We all learn together here. I hope my insight as someone who has owned and enjoyed AP for 15 years comes through in my writings. It is a pleasure to share with everyone. I learned the same way when I started, having searched "Audemars Piguet Forum" and su...

Superb review Michael!

I love the black ceramic pushers and crown. Really an improvement over the older rubber ones. For me I still prefer the RO than the ROO overall but I am starting to appreciate the character of the ROO line now too Cheers Robin

Thanks Robin. I am with you on the Royal Oak.

The 39mm RO case is my favorite AP, definitely more than an Offshore. But I comfortably wear the 42mm Offshores, and they are very fun pieces to enjoy.

When you delve into the details you really see how much AP enhanced on this watch.

I'm really pleased with this new generation of Offshore. And I expect more versions will come based upon this updated platform.

It is the best seller of the Offshore collection, at least in France.

It inspired me to check out the new Offshores. Pictures never do these watches justice! I'm going to buy one this week, either the black dial with red accents or the navy. I loved the elephant but it's a little too conservative. I'll post pics as soon as ...

Excellent! Can't wait to see your decision!

I felt it was due time we delved into these new 42s. I think they have been a bit too under the radar, and deserve proper recognition.

Thats a great review and superb photo quality.I have to admit that I almost forgot about the 42mm versions and had all my concentration on the 44mm version with ceramic I have to rethink my options. Keep up the good work. Regards, Ahmed
