Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Submariner 660ft=200m Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified Ref.1680. A fine and unusual stainless steel, self-winding, divers chronometer-rated wristwatch with date and Submariner printed in red. Ref. 1680, serial No.36xxxxx. Made in 1973. #Case. Two-piece, Oyster type, stainless steel, screw-down case back stamped with reference 1680, case reference 1680 and serial number stamped between the lugs, screw-down Oyster Triplock crown, bi-directional revolving bezel calibrated to 60 minutes with luminescent dot.
#Dial. Matt black, luminescent dot, baton and triangle indexes, outer minute scale, Swiss T<25 signature, depth rating 660ft=200m, Submariner printed in red, date aperture under magnifying lens. Steel luminescent Mercedes hands, center seconds with luminescent dot. #Movement. Cal.1570, automatic, 26 jewel nickel plated, shock-protected monometallic balance adjusted to five positions and temperatures, microstella adjustment screws, balance guard, anodized automatic winding wheels. Hacking (stop) seconds.# Case diameter 40mm, thickness 14mm, inner circumference with bracelet 180mm.# Beautiful aged example with original matching faded bezel, hands and MKIV dial. Case has previously been polished and has wear consistent with age.
