This will be of interest to serious Rolex collectors and many members here. Here we have a rare limited edition Rolex Explorer supplied direct by Rolex only to serving members of the British Army’s Special Forces. The watches were made available only to the Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR), a division of the UK Special Forces (UKSF) that work together with the Special Air Service (SAS) and Special Boat Service (SBS). The regiment conducts a wide range of classified activities related to covert surveillance and reconnaissance missions worldwide and the secrecy afforded them is even higher than other areas of the Special Forces. They are an elite regiment that go through a grueling selection process to enter. More about these special elite military individuals here:
www.eliteukforces.info

This watch is a low issue number from the one off supplied batch of limited edition Explorers. All watches were supplied direct from Rolex to the SRR and feature a Rolex engraved SRR regiment emblem case back together with the engraved issue number. The original Rolex guarantee card states they were directly supplied to the Special Reconnaissance Regiment by Rolex UK and not via a dealer. In addition they were supplied with a joint Rolex/SRR Regiment Issue Certificate detailing the issue number and completed with serving members name, rank and signed by the Regiment’s senior officer. This watch was serviced by Rolex UK in March this year and is unworn since, with all service stickers still intact. It thus benefits from the remainder of the Rolex 2 year International Guarantee and comes with a new Rolex Service International Guarantee card as well as all the original boxes, booklets, hang tags and the important Special Forces certificate and Special Forces supplied original Rolex Guarantee card. The watch itself is in MINT condition. This is a rare piece with incredible provenance and comes with everything supplied to the Special Forces member from new. The watch was supplied for the members own personal use and obviously not issued Ministry of Defence kit which is of course now a £50 quartz watch - sadly the days of the MOD being able to afford expensive Rolex watches is long gone and not something you would use in covert operations! These watches rarely come to market as the owners need to be granted specific permission from their superiors to sell. I have been granted permission to sell this watch on behalf of the existing serving owner but obviously the important details are pixelated below (if any of the Mods here want to see the original they can). There will be a disclaimer with the sale that the special forces certificate must never be published in full in public while the owner is still serving. This is important as they are afforded such high levels of security - he wasn't even allowed a photographer at his wedding! That said the owner is a lovely guy and has said he may assist in sharing some non-sensitive career details and perhaps some photographs when he retires and is out of service. Serious Enquiries on this only please. Obviously I have hundreds of references available from the purchase and sale of vintage Rolex watches and most of you all know me via my website and facebook also, but should anyone require them I'm happy to share. £16,995 for quick sale. You can email me direct at jpgraham @ hotmail.co.uk (no spaces) Return only if not as described and shown.
