So much time for the 5167

 By: Baron - Mr Red : July 25th, 2013-10:23
More often than not, the 5167 ends up on my wrist. It is a long way from being a complicated Patek. It is a long way from being an elegant Patek. In fact, for so many of the reasons that Patek has distinguished itself, this watch stands out as being very ...

Great watch! Love it!

I wonder how it would look like in an all black version... Probably not great. Perhaps less elegant, but even more cool is the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver watch. That's a fun watch!

5165?

 By: Grisar : July 25th, 2013-13:38
It looks like a 5165, doesn't it. Aquanauts wear comfortably for sure.

5165 a smaller version of the 5167.

 By: jon_jon : July 25th, 2013-16:54
Isn't the 5165 that was discontinued a few years ago just a smaller version of the 5167? I agree that the Aquanaut is one of the most versatile watches in the PP collection, moreso than the Nautilus. It doesn't scream "Look at all the complications on thi...

Great summer watch

I appreciate your saying it is very un-Patek of a watch. I think many Patek fans hesitate to say that (feels derogatory to call someone else's Patek very un-Patek) and the owners of this piece rarely admit that and try to explain things like "but it has t...

Well...

.....no hesitation from me in calling the Aquanaut an un-Patek watch. No shame either! LoL. Having said that, I also think the Nautilus is also not especially Patek-like. You raise a really interesting question actually....as when one thinks of Patek, it ...

"un-Patek"

Baron, I like your approach :-) Oliver

Patek or UnPatek

 By: Greenwatch : August 8th, 2013-18:59
You have two keepers there ! Thanks for sharing.

Maybe

 By: U3O8 : August 20th, 2013-17:22
Maybe the 5167 is so un-Patek that it is so Patek. I wear mine with a suit. Especially during the summer. Most of the time I happen to be the only person who knows what's under my shirtsleeve or suit jacket. So nobody can call me out on my supposed fashio...

To late! Now we want to see pictures about you being such a bad boy :-) Cheers, Oliver

5167 and suit?

 By: Baron - Mr Red : August 20th, 2013-23:24
No faux pas there. But was it suit and brown brogues? Uhm, I'n old school British - that combo frightens me! LoL Best, Joe

Booo

 By: U3O8 : August 21st, 2013-06:56
Ha. Yes. It was a khaki linen suit. So a pair of brown Church's was ok. I know brown is for the country. I'm old school too. I see men wearing brown shoes with navy suits all the time and I think it looks ok. However I just can't get myself to do it. I ca...

Cool shots, Joe, especially the first one.

I was interested to read what you wrote about the nautilus. I never considered it as a sports Watch, nor its AP cousin, by the way. Try to do some sports with it, I think that the Service Dept will be happy to receive your Watch AND your money. ;) Best, N...

Aquanaut and swimming....

Totally agree. It is my daily watch too!

How would this look....

on a larger wrist. Thinking that the 40m would appear smaller.
