II-57

II roman numerals for the second quarter of 1957.
i´ve seen some Oysterthin on the e-bay but generally in poor condition and they were gold-filled or plaqué: a steel cased one is clearly more attractive.
( not sure if value should be discussed here so i send you a PM)
but it is a stunner being only 8mm. high in an oyster case
as a friend of mine put it: it is the Calatrava of the Tudors ;-)

Face redone or a Rare Original

Good Morning everyone. A friend was recently suffering a financial setback and needed a few hundred dollars. He managed to sell me his Tudor "OYSTERTHIN". I was somewhat skeptical of it's authenticity until I opened it up to find a genuine Tudor movement....

It looks good...

Depicting the year?

 By: smokindaphatty : February 15th, 2009-13:38
I'm kind of "whew" right now. Very happy to see another one and was very happy when I opened it up. So does the "11.57" in the caseback a reference to the year? And more importantly what is the worth approximately? Does the fact it is an "oysterthin" impr...

Removing scuffs

Congratulation on the Oysterthin. Those scuffs can be removed with various proprietry watch crystal products, otherwise, I have used metal polish or very fine automotive polish. Same rules as polishing a car, let it haze on the crystal and buff off with a...
