I recently purchased a 5512 with the same puffed up powdery gilt which at some angles looks to be shifting. I have heard that this texture is normal and I have also heard that it could be a touch up. Can anyone give me clarity on this? Thanks

The texture is typical for the bart simpson and many 5513 and 5512 from the period + | - 1965. Each time the watch is opened you are taking a risk that the dial could be damaged so avoid too much handling. Thanks for sharing. Bill

having seen so many dials of that period with the same texture i am sure i have an original dial.
