Rolex - New type Band clasps - Like or No Like?

Hi

Put this on the wrong section !  I am New !

Just bought a Rolex GMT Master 2 with the new type band fastener !  My 2002 Yacht Master has the 'older' type clasp and is smooth at either end where it joins the links - great.

This new offering does not have the many fine tuning holes to adjust. You rely on removing or adding links in the main.  The half link quick extension is good but it it really necessary?   The engineering is superb but the end result has a major snag. At the end where the safety clip with the crown is, the surface stands higher than the links. This 1/16 inch is an ideal sharp bit of metal to ruin a decent shirt cuff.  Why did they not make a --<  shape link at the end to bring things level.

How on earth the management agreed to pass the design with such a flaw amazes me. This is a major disappointment to me for an otherwise superb product.  Come on Rolex offer me a modification or swap to the older type clasp please.

Best -  The Old Man

I may have duplicated my reply The main Authorised Dealer agreed the problem and explained the design and how it would NOT be possible to level off the clasp to the links. I have written to Geneve. We shall see!!!
