As you say the one mm difference is almost undetachable, but it's the balance of the design

overall that truly makes the difference. Also, the new movement and the new bracelets construction
all add up a much more attractive product, but these are my observations and appeal to me, but they
must also appeal to the hierarchy at Rolex, that NEVER does anything without throughly testing
those changes. Ultimately it's a matter of personal choice...

Just happy to share my latest dream purchase: the Rolex Day-Date II Rose Gold 2 18235 Diamond Ruby dial. I know that Rolex has now discontinued this model so it was the right time to get one of the last available. This particular dial was not as widely pr...

I didnt realize the new everose gold is more champagne in color until I see your comparison pics. I prefer the everose color on yours :) Ruby and Diamond colors match this everose gold color well, I like it too :) Congrats once again and enjoy your new wa...

All Rolexes are beautiful, but some more beautiful than others. The DD2 for me was out of proportion to the original 36mm, that being said since the new 40mm on it's way the proportions are truer to the original design. I have a new 40mm in yellow on orde...

Hello Jeffrey, Thanks for your comments! The yellow gold 40mm is a great choice (see photo, I did try it too and think that with the new black dial is really stunning) but obviously the rose gold is a fantastic choice too !!! About the Day-Date II : obvio...

Hello Jeff, I agree that the overall balance is indeed different - I think it has to do with the case construction that is somehow slimmer too so it is not really about the 1mm but as you suggest a number of improvements (including the movement of course)...

Congratulations!

That's a heck of a watch you have there! Absolutely stunning. I agree that it's not the most discrete watch, but, sometimes, it's fun to cast discretion aside and opt for a bit of tasteful opulence. All good fun, no? Regards

thank you! discretion is great but...

It can be a bit boring too :) -- I still love my 36mm platinum day-date but I couldn't resit the day-date ii knowing that it is now discontinued. Sometimes and in the right place it is good to set discretion aside and just enjoy life. Nothing wrong to sho...

Incredible piece. thanks for the eye candy.

You are right: the dial is what makes the watch special. Will wear it as much as I can!

It's so bad it turned good!

Congrats with your (very bold) watch! I'm not into the 41 mm Rolex watches. Feel those designs are 'off' in some weird way. I'm also not into diamonds on watches. That just seems wrong. But I have to honestly say that I love this watch. It would be my gui...

thank you Arie! agreed is not...

This is not the most versatile watch and I also think that among rolex loves is a bit too much. The day-date II by itself was not sufficiently loved I think..else Rolex would have not replaced it with the 40mm. Thanks for your kind comments glad that you ...
