Rolex Comex 16660 : Another treasure out of the box for the weekend

Sep 16, 2013,04:52 AM

I haven't had this watch on my wrist for about 2 years. It was a wonderful opportunity to visit the box and take it out for the weekend. I am with the Marcello theory on this watch. 100 Matt dials made of which many were subsequently "replaced" at service for gloss. So, perhaps 30-40 remain with matt dial out of the original 100. Like all 16660, this one sits proud on the wrist and has that typical 666 feeling. This is my only Comex. The 16660 reference is one of my most favourite references to wear. The beauty of having a Comex on a 16660 was always going to be something hard to resist...a 666 with a twist.

Please enjoy these preliminary scans....there will be more detailed reviews to come over the coming weeks......

now I'm conforted ... LLOOLLLL and btw cool dial too ... not to mention that it's something without problems at last ( as you know I'm a sort of watch-pathologist and see everyday all sorts of horrors ).

Thanks Marcello

...though I am re-reading our posts and have a problem with the 16660 being called "she" by me and "baby" by you. If ever a reference had horns and bulls...lol.....it would be the 16660

you can well use ...

the expression " baby " for something either of masculine and feminine gender ..

that is true....

.....but a 16660 is a bull with large horns.....hard to see that as a cute baby!!!! LOL

What a teaser !

I can't wait for the full review. I hope we will be able to make our two Comex SDs meet one day and take a picture !

I get a feeling a Paris GTG next year???

The good news is that thanks To Reverb and Miranda, I now have a place to keep stuff in London as opposed to Switz.... so much easier to get access to the watch. Or maybe you are in London again????

Zagreb????

666 the number of the beast!

What a stunning watch. Very rare too. One of the few non-plexi watches that are really nice and collectable. The best is when you havent had it on your wrist for a long time. You can enjoy it so much ! cheers

Wow! [nt]

...I think this captures the watch well. I have small wrists, but feel no problem with this 666 at all. You capture it well..... a brooding, bruising watch.

And wait to see your PPs! ;)
