Rolex- the breakfast for champions

James Hunt would have substituted the first three letters for Rolex for simply the S but then again- he was probably not into Rolex ;) Both are very nice watches. I would chose the Gilt though with the rasberry bezel. It is just too charming to resist. Th...

Aaah, Edmond, any GMT lover would prefer a blue / red insert, yes, BUT

When you have several vintage GMTs, why not getting such a delicious fantasy! I must say that this caramel dial is something! I am in love. Best, Nicolas

Trust me

I have had my experiences with Caramel dials. They are NOT for me ;) I MUCH prefer black lacquer glossy dials. That is my thing. Also the brown bezel is not for me either. I much prefer black or blue (if I had to chose one colour). My favorite ofcourse ar...

You need to see the insert on the watch

 By: Bill : June 23rd, 2014-03:04
In person to appreciate it. You will find many of those owners with color change dials choose a brown and silver insert not to be confused with brown and yellow or gold numbers. Also as Nico said variety is the spice of life. I hope you have a chance to v...

Spice

By: Le Monde Edmond : June 23rd, 2014-08:03
Your right Bill. Variety is indeed a nice 'spice' in life. But I also know what I like slowly and what I don't like. I am trusting my 'gutt feeling' more and more. Best Edmond

A great breakfast

All the vitamins you need are in the GMT. Take one or two GMT\'s per day and you will be fine. Bill

... and you have good reasons to, my dear friend Nicolas. But I feel the old lady 6542 got an strong contender with this chocolate dial/chocolate bezel 1675!! She will get jealous! And she will have her reasons!! An stunning timepiece!! That´s a most beau...

may I suggest you an insert with a different shade ?? ( for example light grey or a very light faded pepsi insert such a " ghost " one ) to tighten up the contrast with the dial ?? the present insert doesn't create a significant smooth transition with dia...

Marcello- Bravo!

By: Le Monde Edmond : June 24th, 2014-08:04
I fully agree. A nice faded grey would be perfect! I can visualize is already in my head. I don't think a pepsi would work to be honest even if it is faded. A grey, very faded. That would be perfect! I can totally see that. Would be MUCH better than the b...

Thanks for your thoughts

Hi Marcello I will try some options on the insert. My eye got used to this combination but I am open to try a more vintage look. There is a nice ghost in the middle but it was born with that watch so I won't touch but I will look at some other washed look...

you are welcome !

Italian saying

By: Le Monde Edmond : June 25th, 2014-11:32
That Ghost Bezel is to die for Bill. So is your GMT Master collection in general. Simply marvelous that display of colours - this is the essence of Rolex collecting for me. I will get there one day. In Italien there is a famous saying 'Chi Va Piano Va San...
