Rolex Daytona 6239 Paul Newman type of afternoon
This watch was my first Paul Newman. It remains my only Paul Newman, but has been in my collection now for 5-6 years. It grows on me more and more. For many years, I have wondered if i prefer the white dial or black dial version most....finally I have decided! Yes, its black...it has that presence to it. The 6239 was the first Daytona, and this Paul Newman version is one that brings some great family memories too for me. Its difficult to describe why the PN dial adds so much to the Daytona. In most cases now, the dial is worth way more than the watch itself. In an odd way, I really understand that as the dial really does have something special to it. White or black dial, it doesn't matter. :) What matters is that it has become an unattainable grail. :( cheers fernando
