 By: Bill : September 27th, 2014-16:45
What is particular about this set of Rolex Submariners. There are two main themes in the selection. One is quickly obvious the other takes a closer look. Bill...

Nice collection Bill. I ain't an expert with Submariners.

They look like some 4 liners there, gilt dials, meter first, point guards, Bart Simpsons? Trying my luck.

You have caught several items however

There are two distinct themes. You got one. Gilt. There is one more strong theme across the all. Bill

No such thing

Gilt & original T-19? [nt]

You found another common point but not the one I was expecting

 By: Bill : September 28th, 2014-08:51
You get extra bonus points because that is true the all have the Tropic Superdome T-19. Bill

Uhm..

.......oddly, 4 of them are all telling the same time! Good rotation! I don't even think this is right, but is it to do with the era of production? I don't think so, but I can't see an obvious score. Chris's plexi idea is plausible.

The era of production brings together what is common.

Look a little closer.

tritium?

Another good and correct answer. Bonus point. But not the one.

There is one more theme. You guys are good finding the ones I did not think of. There is still one big theme present. Bill

200m

 By: Baron - Mr Red : September 28th, 2014-09:32

Yes all 200m but still not - HINT:Think gilt and look at the dials.

 By: Bill : September 28th, 2014-10:07
They all have something in common that changed from the previous set of gilt era dials. That is a good hint. Bill

Final throw of the dice....

 By: Baron - Mr Red : September 28th, 2014-10:24
.....from this era, the placing of Submariner and the depth rating all has Submariner underneath the depth rating...but in the subsequent era, Submariner appears above the depth rating. .... ....but i know this is not the answer you are looking for

hahaha

I think Bill would never make a game that complicated. Thats only something I think you might be tempted to do ;)

Answer is:....

 By: Bill : September 28th, 2014-11:04
They are all non chapter ring gilt dials. The transition between the pointy crown guards and the round also being the transition from Chapter ring to non chapter ring. This would put us in or around the 1964 mark through to about 1966 / 67. It was a bit o...
