James Bond in Milan - Part I

Oct 29, 2014,02:44 AM

this is not the title of a new movie....

but I have just spent a couple of days in Milan with my family...

and my Rolex Big Crown on the wrist...

so here are a couple of pictures of the 6538 tour ;-)

Of course, it has to start with the legendary Duomo:

which is even reflecting in the plexi:

I like this angle of the 6538 case in the italian sunset:

It even works without the watch:

here's the mandatory "breakfast + watch" picture:

then after the meal, let's see some more legendary features of Milan:

In the evening, another of my watches wants some wrist time at the bar:

The next day, we have visited the Museo del Novecento:

my kid seems to be rather puzzled by this Yves Klein monochrom ...LOL !

and finally, in the evening James Bond heads to the bar to order a Martini Vodka !

that day I will have to bring along my 6536/1, which I love as much as the 6538. Maybe even more, because of its tropical dial ;-)

Nice shots Jeff...

A dangerous place, where you can meet several watch dealers.

And come back with more watches than you had when you arrived.... Nice pictures! Best, and have fun there. Nicolas

Delighted to see ...

... that you have been to the Museo del Novocento. Highly recommended as a site to visit in Mediolanum in my view – though not heavily frequented. Every time I see Fontana’s Slash art I wonder whether it will ultimately find its way into dial design. ;-) ...

It is definitely a great museum...

Jeff: Congratulations on the BC. I have had the privilege of seeing a BC only twice in my life, and they never disappoint. They really are one of those hyped vintage pieces that actually exceed the hype! Enjoy it! -Mike
