One entire week with the Rolex 6542 GMT Master on the wrist.

Mar 01, 2015,00:40 AM

More and more, I decide to spend the whole week with the same Watch on the wrist.

This way, you appreciate more, and better, the Watch you are wearing. You cross through the different moods of the week, you are sometimes feeling good, bad, and your Watch is still here, as a faithful companion it is.

Ok, I know this 6542 by heart. It is always a matter of heart between this one and me, too, by the way.

I am always by the delicate nuances of the dial, the sweetness of its bakelite insert and the sensuality of this small crown.

This week ran fast. It seems to me that it lasted one day!

The beloved 6542:

Sporty and classy. Stay classy my friend. Don\'t let the collection get jealous. Bill

Captivating spell !.. Envouting spirit !.. Splendid condition, as well !.. This watch..

.. always is a WoW ! - factor for the cognoscenti, but enough noble beauty and coolness, to raise some eyebrows. A watch for all occasions, and especially for the relaxed easiness.. Fantastic piece, I do have her in front of my eyes, hope one day, we can ...

Stupid me, maybe ?!.. You have eagle eyes, Thx for the hint !,. But let me ask..

.. Indeed, it appears to have none .. (!?) ~br> Do I now have a (real) problem ? - or/ and Do I need a new Plexi ? I guess, it might be difficult, but hopefully not impossible !! Guess I'll have to talk to my dealer, and ask for another little deduction.....

You need a plexy Ref 115. With a cyclop date.

Now, some prefer it without cyclop. Not sure that without cyclop it is the correct configuration. Best, Nicolas.

Thx kindly !!.. By your opinion, is such a Ref 115/cyclops very hard to find ?..

.. Strange, that this fact did not come to my attention until you figured it, because right, I have seen yours, and Joe's. On a pure personal, subjective note, I would rather go for a Cyclops Date Plexi. Would such a Plexi, if spotted & located at all (??...

Thank you, I will try.. But for me, that is not a real reason to ..

.. Reverse my acquisition , as other than that plus the little bakelite-insert faded flaw, the piece looks great, IMO. But true, one can be looking for perfection - in this case, I can very much live with that, I think.. Thx again, & Best hs

Yes, this is not a major flaw. you can live with that, without problem.

But try to source a 115. Better, ask him to find one for you. Best, Nicolas

Wow beautiful example!

I really like your 6542. The watch is warm and your bakelite radiates charm. The white seconds hand, the dial, your hands- your 6542 is one of the best examples I have seen. I actually like the non-cyclop plexi on your watch. Its different. Congratulation...

Interesting

Nicolas- your 6542 is always a pleasure to look at. Its so different from most 6542 we see. From what year is your example? Your white print is presuambly because of the watch being tropical and exposed to the sun. Your bakelite blends in nicely with your...

III 1958, Edmond. Honestly, if it is to not wear it, I don't see the interest.

It is not that fragile. If you wear it like any other Watch, with a minimum of précautions, nothing will happen. I wear it regularly for 4 years, now, and no issues at all. Best, Nicolas

I could wear this during one entire year !
