VC 6378

I have just purchased the watch I have dreamed of owning! It is the VC 6378 and I searched for a long time to find an original unrestored example. I would like your views/comments on the originality of the watch particularly the crown dial and hands. The movement is the K1072 as I am sure you all know! I recently paid 2500GBP from a dealer in Spain, is that reasonable?

Vintage V&C are widely undervalued at the moment, but even in that context, it was a very reasonable deal, assuming that the movement is clean and correct. Regards, Tony C.

Thanks for your comments. The movement is clean and runs to about 5-10 seconds a day! Not bad for a 50 year old watch.

Considering it was listed for $595 new in the 1967 V&C price list ;-) Congrats on a nice clean piece with original dial and hands. Crown may not be original, its taller than shown in my reference photos (should also have a slight dome). I wouldn't wor...

Thanks for your reply. There is a hallmark on the lug but it is worn!

Looks like a great catch!
