The Deep Sea Chrono - Cermet

Jul 15, 2014,21:24 PM

Nico already wrote a fantastic review on this watch and I don't need or try not to repeat his words, so I will keep this short and concise

What a great watch!

1. Strap: soft; comfortable; water has not affected it so far in any way. I have been told that it does not come in 20mm or else I would get one for my DSA. Nico, please ask JLC to make one for DSA!!!

2. The doom crystal merges with the rotating bezel "almost" seamlessly; in fact if I feel the doom along with the bezel, I can hardly feel the "gap". Great attention to detail and design

3. The chrono function indicator while at first seemed a bit "pointless" as the chrono second hand will tell me the status of the chrono ; however I realise that it is useful during activities, e.g. running, when I can only give it the quickest of glance to make sure of its status. In addition the red dot gives the watch a touch of sharpness; while the white keeps it "cooler"

4. Yes, it is cold and technical but not quite as much as the Navy Seals; it retains certain charm to it via its classic case shape; lugs; steel buttons without guards or locks; engraving on the push buttons; doom crystal; and faux-patina (for the other model). Of course it is not as sensual as the vintage chrono but then this watch is not meant to "compete" against it in this way

5. It is 44mm but wears smaller due to its sublime case profile; and it is very light thanks to the material used

6. Nice dots of lume on the bezel

And thats all I got time for......

Thanks for reading

Regards

Nice write up, TCKH. It is always very interesting to have feedback from owners.

Yes, you are right, the thing which surprised me the most, with this Deep See Chrono Cermet, is the size... It doesn't do its 44 mm and looks smaller. Then the comfort on the wrist. I wore it for several weeks, last summer, and it was a frendly companion....

Thanks

hi nico as you know, the strap is whole piece supple leather. i was almost fooled into thinking its part nylon and part leather, like the IWC top gun glad its not! cheers tommy

Yes, this is a very good strap, I must say.

When I gave the Watch back to JLC, they were so surprised by the condition that they asked me if I wore it!!! Best, Nicolas

I thought "money never sleeps"....

Before I saw this watch in the metal (yours actually), 44mm sounded a bit on the large side but as you and Nico kindly pointed out, it wears smaller on the wrist. This is another one of those watches that pictures don't do it much justice as the construct...

welcome....

One of my nicest picture of the Deep Sea Cermet.
