It is of it's time!

I don't quite follow some of the vintage community bemoaning of this modern iteration of the red sea dweller............its akin to comparing a 60's Ferrari with today's models. They may share the same heritage and blood line even come in the same colour but they are not always directly comparable .Each in its own way reflects and encapsulates the technology of the time it was manufactured to meet the market needs.
As a earlier posting commented there are quite a few modern quite high volume classics and I'm sure this will in time become a very desirable and sort after watch once the release premium settles down.
I've been buying new Rolex for well over 30 years now and whilst I enjoy vintage Rolex some of the dials are just fantastic, I find the wearing experience does not always live up to the expectation when compared to a modern Rolex. Having gone thru many 60/70's submariners, cosmographs, Day-Dates, explorers my earliest piece is now my Floating Cosmograph 16523 Daytona which embodies my first feeling and build quality of wearing a new Rolex back in the 80's, strange but I'm more at ease with it and being bimetal and my other preference is gold which formed the basis of my new watch purchases over the years...............just struggle with the steel vintage watches . I suppose we all have a period/time in our lives which condition us going forward.................they used to say that brand loyalty was pretty much fixed by your early 30's hence why car manufacturers among others try to cater for the younger generation to 'tie' them in to the brand.
Enjoy the watch I hope you are happy with it, I have one on order, it will come in its own good time.
regards
John
