New acquisition - 6610 Red Depth

Oct 06, 2015,23:35 PM

Hi all

I know this model is a favorite on this forum, thanks to Joe Baron incredible reference article.
I was fortunate enough to recently acquire this all original example (the correct gilt hands with elongated Benz might have been relumed but I do not really care).
Serial is 114.xxx, caseback dated I.56 and the red depth line has open 6.
So it is all good from Joe's perspective I guess smile

Now the dial is not perfect - the radium on those 60 years old watches are quite aggressive - and there is no gloss left on it.
Even if I am starting to think I overpaid for my example, I really like it already and am sure my love for it will grow when I wear it.

Big bonus for me: it comes on its original expandable bracelet!

Let me know your thoughts!

Thanks,

Fabrice.

Overpaying is a bit relative notion. I remembrr having overpaid some watches, which now, retrospectively, were not that overpaid, given they current value. The most important, as always, is the watch. And luminous of the hands apart, you have a bomb. The ...

... Make me fell better about "overpaying" as you said. And I am not a flipper, at least I do plan to keep this one and wear it and enjoy it for some time. As for the hands, I am not really bothered by them for the moment I might see that with Michael You...

Take your time, enjoy this marvel. You will see later.

My taste 100%. Gilt dial. The watch is full of patina thanks to the radium in part. Like nicolas says overpaying is relative with time. What is dear today is really not so dear in a few years time. A beautiful watch! Enjoy , Edmond

I am happy you vet it Edmond!
