A different no-date Rolex catches my eye…

Apr 20, 2024,18:41 PM

The 114300. Just some pics borrowed from the net. Since I already have some other colorful dials, I’m keen on the white and black variants. Proportions seem right at 39 x 11 mm as well. Owned an Explorer I with similar case dimensions in the past, but haven’t tried on the 114300 yet. And the bonus is no date / cyclops! Any owners or admirers care to share their experience with this beauty?

The white looks fantastic, the black cool too. I wouldn't go for the colored dials though (blue, grape etc, don't like the shades and the lum dots)

That’s where I’m undecided

My Sub covers the black dialed Rolex. And while that color is very sharp. I’m inclined to try on the white version first

I agree

That I’m not crazy about the three colored dial options along with the alternating colored dots! Which is why I’m zeroing in on white or black!

White looks great

I don't own one but it's an appealing and versatile watch

I’m with you on that

This reference can do casual on the weekends and office settings during the week. Versatile indeed!

You are so right!

I remember trying these on a few years ago...

and really liking them. For some reason (maybe the curved bezel somehow?) I thought they wore a little smaller than the 39mm Explorer did. That's all I got for you, Jesse!

Very helpful Ian!

Astute and detail oriented, as usual, good point. The Explorer I does indeed have a conical bezel, where this model is curved. And I can see how that makes this one wear slightly smaller than the E I. All the more reason to try one on soon 😎 Have a great ...

Looking good! 🤩

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. After viewing your pic, I can fully understand why it’s an understated gem! Enjoy!

The sentiment toward the white dial version is absolute love of a possibly perfect white dialed Rolex.

The size, purity, versatility, and short production puts this on a pedestal, which I understand. I hadn’t noticed the black dial version before, but it has the same impressive qualities😍. My issue with the other colored dials, despite loving purple, is ex...

Well said !

I have the 39 mm Explorer and looking for a white dial watch. The114300 in white fits the bill perfectly. Elegant, sporty, classy, simple and understated - just how I like my watches. And I´ve seen it on rubber straps and suede straps looking good too. Ha...

really flies under the radar on leather I also have a spare rhodium dial, which I am planning to mount to celebrate its 10 years ...

Wow, very sharp!

Refreshing to see one on a nice strap as well. Glad to see owners enjoying this reference! 👍🏻

Theorhetically good

But I found not reaching for it very often at all. Eventually I let it go to a friend who has much more wrist time than I do. I think it really depends on your variety. There is no denying its simplistic appeal. ...

Awesome photo!

Just a boring morning. Sadly, sun is no longer facing the balcony, so not good for pictures.

+1!!

Simplistic appeal = 👍🏻

 By: Aquaracer1 : April 21st, 2024-15:38
Theoretically good, but not so much in practice. Do you think you reached for it less due to the other black dials in your line-up?

Perhaps I preferred some colour.

I did sell the OP39 and also replaced the DJ36 with a green dial. But even in the context of black dials, I did gravitate towards the DJ36 more than the OP39.
