A very relevant topic

In so many ways. Firstly let me state that I am highly sceptical of tropical dials. Especially when dealers emphasize them.
It is like big red warning light goes off in my head that says 'procede with extreme caution'. It is sad but true.
There is so much money in vintage watches today and a clear premium is paid for anything that is near tropical. Its a very
controversial topic for many collectors I believe.
So thank you for starting this post. It will allow many of us to become better educated.
I really enjoyed seeing the many pictures of the tropical dials, unfortunately I cannot contribute.
But perhaps I can throw out an interesting question: If the subdials are tropical can we call the watch 'tropical'?
And can a dial be considered tropical if only the sub registers are tropical?
Happy April Fools fellow collectors. E
