Adopted sheep
Sep 22, 2014,13:10 PM
Joe,
Not surprised to read this post from you. You clearly like the 'adopted black sheep' of the submariner family.
Thats ok. To each his own. Although I understand close to zero of the SD family other than the double red is
usually what collectors keep on mentioning, your collection is impressive in that it is focussed. I also recognise the Omani dialed SD.
You might be termed a connoisseur in all things SD and if I should decide to get interested in this area (very unlikely but you never know)
I will not hesitate to contact you and seek your advice.
But since you ask, I am now focussed on the small crown submariner (I am the caretaker of three pieces now). I have zero'd in on the small crown subs especially
the 6536-1 as my focus. I have two 6536-1 that are separated only by 106 nr which I think is quite cool, especially
since they made them over a relatively long span of 1956-59. My watches are 306xxx and I have seen some 6536-1
that were 399 xxx (so nearly 100'ooo watches later). To have two watches only 106 nrs apart is a lucky coincidence.
Here they are.
Best Edmond
