Elusive

Nicolas- the paper will prove elusive to find. I think the box should not be so difficult.

The white seconds hand should be no problem as the +crown. If I come across anything
I will let you know. Best E

One day, we'll have to take some side by side pictures, with Joe's 6542, yes!

Second try

Does it begin with W for white? Or S for seconds hand? ;)

Give up

By: Le Monde Edmond : August 27th, 2014-06:45
I give up- I cannot guess anymore. I will just have to wait for your post- which I am excited for! E ps: Mabye it has to do with documents? Original PANAM literature? I can imagine that too....

That would be great. Still looking for the box and the booklet, too.

I can find a red seal from that era, but the box and te booklet give me some hard time. Then, I will try to find a + crown. And a whire second hand, and I will have one of the nicest around. ;) Best, Nicolas

Booklet is what I meant

By: Le Monde Edmond : August 27th, 2014-09:39
Nicolas I meant the booklet when I said paper- sorry. Booklet. I am also hunting for one. But I think its very hard. Only chance will be buying a complete 6542 set at auction. Best Edmond

Great!

I'm still impressed by the bakelite insert of the bezel... so perfect and wonderful! I almost do not feel the need to have a ceramic bezel... ...not to mention indexes and dial!!! You're an encyclopedia Nico... :-)) Best, massi

Well, the advantage of a ceramic bezel is that it is much more solid and shock resistant.

But I guess that as for everythnig in life, we do appreciate more things which are fragile... Because they are fragile, and we can loose them at every moment... Baci, Amico, i se vediamo il ano prossimo! Nicolas

it is true, does tenderness in comparison to the ceramic one...
