.. There is no comparative effect ( " toning down") in color:
both, the black and the dark blue absolutely stand out, and with some
light reflection even more so; in fact sometimes, the intense blue almost turns into black..
Maybe it has to do with the cerachrome technology, but AFAIK,
that is a multi-step process, with a special hard and resistant effect to end up with.
( Maybe our friend & moderator Baron knows more about it ? )
But overall, I still like a lot what I see;
- Thus I'm happy with my 1675, 16710, ( red/blue- pepsi & black/red)
(and my latest modern Rolex aquisition, last January, the 116710 BLNR blue/black ,)
whereby the blue is more " celestial", intense & yes, somewhat of a lighter blue..
- But again, this could be being deceived by the play of light..
