Genuine Rolex Bracelet?

Dec 18, 2014,02:23 AM

I posted recently  about an 18kt gold Rolex with date on a President bracelet, which needed some links added.

My local Rolex dealer in Colchester UK has now advised me that ( a ) this particular model was only issued with the Jubilee or
Oyster bracelet , and (b) that although the President  bracelet is 18kt gold, and has the Rolex clasp, it has no reference number and is
therefore not a genuine Rolex bracelet. Which means (c) that Rolex will not supply the links need to lengthen the bracelet. Is there any way I can trace the manufacturer of the bracelet which has no markings except the hallmarks? I have issues about using the bracelet if it is not genuine Rolex, but would like to keep the watch as it was given to me by a very old friend colinwillsher

It seems that at some point the bracelet was replaced

But the previous owner kept the the original clasp. When watch are taken to watch shops that are not specialist sometime they offer generic vs original which seems to be your case. It may well be hallmarked but Rolex will not supply links. So your choice ...

Thanks Bill
