My Rolex GMT 6542.

 By: amanico : October 17th, 2010-03:39
It took me a lot of time to decide what would be MY 6542. First of all, I wanted a 6542 for many years, as I was always seduced by the lack of crownguards, on this reference, which gives a distinctive look to the GMT. Like with the GMT, the no crownguard ...

Wow, hermano!.

I got the GMT virus very soon, at the very begininning of my Watch Love Story. I will get my 6th in December, for Xmas. And I wonder if I will not add one more Vintage, and 2 moderns, to close this thema... As for this 6542, it is a Dream which comes true...

I´m very happy because...

 By: E.J. : October 17th, 2010-04:45
one of your dreams became true. And this watch is, certanlly, a nice and great dream. Enjoy it in the best of health! Best, my GMT friend Emilio

Thanks a lot, Reneo. Much appreciated, my friend.

 By: amanico : October 17th, 2010-04:40
Take your time, Reneo, it is also part of the pleasure, and it will avoid you some issues, as the field is a bit mined. Therefore, there are so many desirable Vintage GMTs... I'm preparing something about them, by the way, but it takes a lot of time... Be...

Wishing you luck with the Milgaus and the vintage daytona.

Thanks, Edward...

 By: amanico : October 17th, 2010-05:28
Well the Milgauss and the Dayto are another story. While I'm hunting for several years now the Milgauss 1019, the Vintage Dayto was more a revelation, to me. I still have to dig the topic, I think. Best, Nicolas

Muchas gracias, Neto.

 By: amanico : October 17th, 2010-07:49
That would be an interesting option to consider, for you, don't you think? Best, Amigo. Nicolas

:) right as always....

 By: neto : October 17th, 2010-07:59

But the irony of the story is ...

 By: amanico : October 17th, 2010-08:05
That Rolex also refuses to service Vintage watches... Best, Nicolas

Congrats my friend and great post!

great watch Nicolas. I really like the way in which you take the time to figure out what you want before diving in. I know all of us prefer to buy vintage with our heart, but sometimes it is better to listen to the brain and buy something that we think th...

I would say the same than I said to Jeff, Steven.

 By: amanico : October 17th, 2010-11:10
I also bought it with my heart, as I'm totally unable to buy a watch I don't like. But the temptation, and the reasons behind it, was big to go on a Gilt Swiss Dial and Bakelite bezel. As always, the fact to see it in real was the decisive solution. And a...

Thanks a lot for this review of this GMT. I really think that the no crown protection enhances the beauty of these watches. But after reading your review, I faced another proof of the difficulties for me to enter the world of Vintage Rolex. If you don't h...

It is not that difficult.

 By: amanico : October 17th, 2010-12:33
It all depends on your degree of interest for these watches. If you are motivated, it is not too difficult, as there are a lot of material to use, check, and double check. Best, Nicolas

Yes, you're right, I don't have the sufficient motivation for the moment
