Most plastic surgeries are done to bring a different look to whichever area you choose.

Personally, I’ve not had any plastic surgery done but have considered, and followed through with, Rubber surgery. At this point, I’m not sure what you’re thinking but let’s move on, shall we? I was wondering how my Milgauss would look if I replaced the steel band with rubber. Black rubber. Would it look good? Would it match? How different would it look? Would it really make an impact? Or would it just be blasé? I knew I didn’t want just a generic type of rubber strap. I wanted a rubber strap that looked like it belonged. I wanted one that would fit the curvature of the case and bring a little style along with it. So I looked for a band that would be able to accomplish what I wanted.

I found one that seemed like it could step up to the task. And that whisper of green the pinstripe brings is just the right amount of style I was looking for.

Being that I do not have the surgical tools needed, I took it to the Rolex boutique (and I am glad I did) to have the Tech do the surgery. Surgery completed, I drove down to an area of tide pools for the recovery period. What better way to recover than to take in the surf and sun.

Will post a little more about the band.

This Milgauss has a much more understated and sober look now that it has undergone some rubber surgery! May I ask what clasp you use for this strap?

The clasp I used...

is the one from the Milgauss. I had an option to choose the existing clasp or a tang. I chose the clasp, of course. Aloha, Bob

I do love the Watch a lot, and the scenery as well. I am less fan of the strap. Ok, it is practical, it may be comfortable, but aesthetically, I am not sure... A Nato can do the job in a better way, maybe? But that is just my feeling. Bravo for the Watch!...

Hi, Nicolas,

Yes, a nato would do the job but I wanted something a little different, something to use the Milgauss clasp. At a quick glance, it kind of reminds me of a JLC(?). I'll post more pictures of the strap and write a little blurb about it as it is somewhat sof...

Damn nice dial! ;) Maybe a bit too technical, this strap, for such an almost Vintage? [nt]

That is a great piece! The strap really pulls the sub dials to the forefront. What are your thoughts about the strap and how long have you had it? Aloha, Bob

Although some watches look great with gold, for the most part, I'm not an all gold kind of guy. It's just my own personal preference. Aloha, Bob

Aloha Bob! Those are nice pics, as if you're on an ECO project :-) Understand you want to use the clasp, if you can find a rubber strap with bigger band of green, will be even nicer... of course, NATO is a very good alternative as Nico mentioned. Kong

Hope you're doing well. I agree. A little bigger green stripe would be nicer. It's more pronounced in person. Yes, I considered NATO straps but I also wanted something different, something "off the beaten track" per se. :-) But a few NATO straps may not b...
