I took my Submariner LV and SDDS for service in the beginning of the summer. However, I missed my every day sporting Rolex esso much that I wanted to buy a new one. So I bought Yacht Master. But then, visiting Tokyo I saw the ND Submariner, then from London I found a brand new Sea Dweller... And naturally, when visiting Greece, I found the already discontinued Sub as well as GMT-Master. And finally, a week ago, a retailer contacted me and told that they have the new Sub and gave me a good rebate. What to do... I bought it.
All of my new Rolexes have the same Triplock crown so I suspect that they are water tight to the depths a scuba diver or normal technical diver can go. So these watches correspond with your requirements.
I have been now looking and wearing these watches for some weeks or up to three months except the new Sub, I would comment them as follows:
- the best feeling on the wrist I have when I wear the ND Submariner.
- the nicest overall impression and feeling of elegance and quality comes from Yacht Master. However, in certain conditions it is difficult to read.
. when flying to different countries, nothing beats the GMT-Master
. the new green Submariner is very very interesting. However, I do not yet know if I hate it or love it. But one thing is sure: the bracelet is really a fantastic one.
I started to buy these new watches because I have decided not to buy vintage. My intention was to "wash out" my dream of a vintage Submariner by getting some new Rolexes. But the opposite happened: I would still love to have a non-date vintage Submariner with plexi glass and I dream about that every day. So my recomendation is that start i.e. from a nice 5513.
Best regards, Kari
