Rolex Tudor submariner 7021/0 the twin to the Rolex 1680

The Rolex Tudor 7021/0 was introduced around 1968 as a replacement to the 7928. This coincides wilt the beginning of the rolex 1680. Tudor the time started to use the ETA movement a workhorse that has stood the test of time. At the same ( as noted by Nico the order was 7016 followed by 7021) time Rolex Tudor also introduced the 7016 which was the no date version. There is a lot to love with the Tudor Submariner. The red black roulette date wheel and the tall top hat crystal tropic 125. This 1968 unpolished watch is also very special as it comes from the original serviced once around ten years ago. It still has the original bracelet Rolex 9315 folded link with 380 end links.

These blue dial where rumored to have replaced where sold along side the black dials, however the black dials suffered from deterioration quite often.

But are you sure the 7021 replaced the 7924? I always thought it was the 7016... Best, Bill. Nicolas.

It replaced the 7928 not 7924

As the 7021/0 started around 1968. Bill

Same year for the 7016... And as it is a no date ( 7016 )...

I thought the 7016 was the successor of the 7928... So, the same year, Tudor released a no date and a date Sub, obviously. Best, Bill. Nicolas

Pretty close I would say

Around 1967 to 1968. I am making the assumption based on seeing some overlap. Curiously there seems to be some very easy swiss only vs t swiss t versions of the 7016/0 with two line shield snow flake. I also have what appears to be a transition 4 line wit...

Yes the order is 7016 followed by 7021

I think the 7021/0 was the answer to the 1680. Bill

Congrats on your 9000th post. Tudors are quite nice, saw them...
