......I will let others answer the "Buy the seller" idea. I would stick by that one....still. Some sellers are not just interested in selling....that is particularly true for collectors. Also, an experienced collector will give you a very good idea on how... 

I always buy the seller and it is as simple as that for me!

I would put in the same positions # 1 and 2, the watch should turn you on but in the same moment you should judge the seller too. Helpful for those who are approaching this passion but also not to be forgotten by experienced people.

This is exactly my point. The world of vintage is so complex that it is so important to maintain humility. This refers to originality of a watch, its variations, its value, etc etc. One never reaches the end of the knowledge journey with vintage Rolex. So...
