Rolex

Rolex is an iconic watch.... Some like it, some do not... It is though on of the most robust watches out there.... However, one could split Rolex into two categories.... Modern... and Vintage... So which Rolex would you prefer... modern or vintage.... rob...  

And a PN would be my choice.

I like all the Vintage series, and the moderns that are likely due to become notable vintages. Some examples I can think about are the pepsi, coke, Cellini prince, turn-o-graph

I for one wouldn't create an opposition between the Modern and the Vintage. First of all, what do we mean by Vintage, here? Vintage is the contraction of the french " vingt ans d'age ", which means 20 years old. So, watches till 1990 are to be considered ... 

the word vintage is a victory of the french language over the english one.... Yet the english language twisted it a bit..... So, in a sense, I will agree with you and also define a vintage watch one that dates before the 80s and probably before the 70s...... 

One watch for what purpose? To live on a Desert Island? So, it will be a modern one, to avoid any kind of problems. To live in a modern and urban way? In this case, a Vintage GMt, Explo II or Sub... We have to be pragmatic... Even if I detest this kind of...

but then, when i look at my collection, I find i have virtually no modern and more than one or two vintage. If i had to pick a modern as my favourite, it would be either the Milgauss GV or the Explorer. There can only be one vintage....the "coolest watch ...

Depends on: -the situation. Casual or work. -traveling or at home -diving or boiling eggs I could go for a platinum day-date, a submariner, a GMT, a Milgauss, a seadweller a OM a (much, careful, my heart ) But if I where to pick one, and o.ly one as my so...
