....is your total love for the watch and what it represents. This is a thread from someone who clearly understand teh GMT better than anyone I know. It is fantastic to have it posted here..an absolute reference
Differently said, if we want to understand why we love the GMT Master so much, we have to try to find what's behind this watch. Do the test: Don't you intuitively feel there is something really, deeply special and highly attractive which happens each time...
of yours I think that there will be no soul around here :) not convinced in GMT-Master grandeur Lovely post!! Looking forward next parts that will spree GMT mania Best Yours D P.S. Baron still not convinced? :)
For the inspiring post. Seeing all those PANAM ads brought me back in time - something which mostly only my old cars do. I remember seeing Antiquorum auctioning all those accessories with the GMT watch and wondered why someone would want it. Know I better...
As for set of goodies, when you love a Watch, a model, yes, there is an obvious interest to hunt them. I am trying to modestly gather some of them... Which will be the topic of one of my two next " Pan Am Series "... Best, Edmond. Nicolas
... but well worth it!! Lots of nice old ads, lots of awesome "props", and a great writing! I will reserve its reading to my home at night. I guess I will need my pills near my favorite armchair to handle this viewing, don´t you think so? Your images tran...
Yes, the 707 was really something! Too bad I couldn't experience it. I have the feeling you will like my 2 other posts abut the Pan Am... ;) Un abrazo, Amigo. Nicolas.
... and you show it so well in your threads! I´m sure I will love to see the following posts in this series!! Un abrazo mi estimado y admirado amigo! Abel.
...and a s a little extra, this very old and extremely rare Tourneau ad. Please not the strange sentence "the GMT Master was especially created for the pilots and crews of two world famous aviation comapnies" ...
... It is so nice and nostalgic to view those old ads. I feel they are referring to both Pan American and Swissair with those words about two famous Airways Companies. It is suggested by the little drawing of a Douglas DC 6 or 7 airplane with the Swiss cr...
and old watches. We have perhaps become too slick in our age. We have also become illiterate. There used to be stories and lots of text to read in ads. Now it is just a single word or brand.
It was that first advertisement showing the pilot's arm with an18k GMT that did it for me. Somehow Rolex have managed to produce a tool watch with elegance and enormous wrist presence at the same time. Super!
... as I am sure that all PuristS were waiting for your first article just like me. And I must say it was worth waiting. Great article with all these vintage ads. That's exactly what the GMT is about. Many thanks Nico, and look forward to reading part 2 s...
Thank you for a great post, my friend! It makes me really happy I was wearing my GMT today! ;) Please allow me to add a few ads from my library... Watch of the year 1958: Not only Pilot references... Greenland 1985: KonTiki(?!) 1985: And not only Pilot/GM...
Thanks for this awesome, uplifting post! The GMT and the Daytona are my favorite Rolex watches. Although I have a Sub no date, I still prefer the GMT and Daytona over the Sub..just my humble opinion and in no way meant to offend the Sub lovers!
I love the 50th anniversary with the green dial in full gold: "Rien ne va plus!" all day is what I have in mind if I see that dial. I am suffering ... Thanks for this trip in time and place. Best Moritz
... your post yesterday night at home. It was a most enjoyable reading and viewing and I wish to congrat and thank you for this awesome work and all the time you invested in this thread. These watches, and these writings about them, bring all the romance ...

How did you guess? ;) Seriously, the talent of Rolex is to have created such legends as the Sub, the GMT, the Explorer and the... Daytona. Among them, the GMT, and the Explorer, too, has a big merit: You can build an interesting collection without having ...
......you are talking to a guy who already has 2 GMTs.....so what you are really saying is will i dive deeper? And deeper....and deeper? I think the thing is....c'est le truce....Subs and SDs are my equivalent to your GMTs and Explorers. I get most excite...
I think the GMT is an absolute icon. Not just for Rolex, but for the watch industrie. The two tone bezel insert, the 24h hand. For me it is the watch that got me hooked on Rolex. The quality, the simplicity, the classy and timeless look. How good is a des...

Thanks once again for this! This post plus Baron's on the "bruiser" is making me seriously consider a Bruiser Rolex! Also, i normally don't fancy yellow gold watches but somehow the GMT Master II black dial in yellow gold case and bracelet (on the Pilot A...
