Not so often on my wrist, this one, but certainly not out of mind. But here is the question for you. In the spirit of Bill's "can you spot" questions..... Can you spot why a Geiger would be of no use on this one? No prizes!...

.....4 of these have surfaced....... all four found with no tritium One person decided to lume it with tritium. Then they discovered that the other three had no lume....so they removed the tritium. Lots of theories on why there is no lume. But it was orde...

What are the theories as to why no Tritium? Was it at the receivers request or the Sultan?

Many "theories" but nothing known

for example, argued that it was issued to SAS and they don't want to be seen at night. Hence no lume. Also argued that the Sultan doesn't like brightness. Both of those theories seem weak. Reality is that when these watches were made, the availability of ... 

Another explanation is that dials without tritium were made for Submariners

Submariners, not the Rolex ref, but the military in the Submarines. Some Lemania Chronographs for the British Navy came without tritium, becaue they were issued to Submariners. No sure that would be the explanation for your special SD. Best, Nicolas

....the problem here is that the Red Omans on Submariners did have lume (a different period of issue I believe)...also not much demand for diving in Oman.
