the corrosive things like white spirit, detergents, gasoline and sea water can be the reason of the fading.Also if the watch has a very strict proper care, it shouldn't age like this

This is the same for pâtina, a spider dial or too heavy patined dial is a sign of absolute carelessness from the previous owner. There are limits to patina and bezel fading, but for me, I can't see myself buying a watch with the slighest amount of patina, nor even a faded bezel.I prefer to pay a premium but to have an absolutely pristine and flawless item. But to each their own

I never thought of it that way how genuine fade matches the case patina , nice observation . The first owner of this example really took care of it although he claimed as far as he remembers the besel has faded a long time ago. Note how it maintained the ...
