Thank You Mark, I have
Sep 21, 2017,07:40 AM
tried the 5960 since I want to add a chrono to my humble sporty Patek collection ( 5712 /5167)
I prefer the Cream over the black dial because the black is More classic and the red hand a bit too glossy
But not found of the bracelet
So I tried the G version , and bingo , this watch is amazing
The blue grained dial, the strap , that reminds me of the Pilot but way more interesting
For me this is THE Pilot watch from Patek
The new cône pushers, WG markers...
I just love it !

Do you think the 5131 would be better without the integrated bracelet? Julian
My pleasure!
By: Mark in Paris : September 9th, 2017-00:50
Well, this is a tough question Julian as I still have the 5960/1A white dial pictures I made when I tried it one or two years ago (here below). I'm still not a fan of the bracelet style and design but I found that, with the right attire, it can look nice ...
Glad you enjoyed it!

Well Gordon, as always, the presentation of new models, versions etc... is always bringing a change. Sometimes we like the watches right away and sometimes it requires a little more time. And it is not because it takes more time that it means it is not th...
It is a pleasure to discuss about them with you all
By: Mark in Paris : September 9th, 2017-07:37
and I also appreciate when someone shares his experience about a watch I couldn't try myself in order to help me make my opinion. I'm glad you enjoyed it and found some useful elements about these novelties. Thanks a lot for your very nice words and have ...
Thanks Mark....

I will concur with you in that once you actually see specific references, a totally different feeling emerges. I have seen the 5131P on image quite a few times, but nothing prepares for seeing it in the flesh. It has a vibrancy and appeal which is extraor...
I agree

We have the same approach there and at least seeing many of these watches in the metal brings something more than what the official pictures might communicate. You're having a few to enjoy on your side and this is great. Thanks a lot for your feedback Joe...
Interesting reading

After a few months, it is interesting to come back to your thoughts and I think I'm very close to your position. Except for the blue :p In fact, I see what you mean and as this is a color that is coming back since recently (there was the 5070P but it was ...
Indeed, there are a few that might be nice to wear :)

After a few months, it is nice to see people's feeling about the novelties and it is quite interesting too in order to see if Patek makes good choices, at least for us here :p The 5131P and 5170P are definitely bringing something very nice in the brand's ...
I'm glad you liked it :)

Yes, those two have a lot of success indeed. Now it is time to have a try as soon as they are available at ADs. I'll go back at the Salon to see them too when I can. Thanks Fram! Best, Mark
Thanks Mark for the review.

Great as always,I think the 5650G is the best from last Basel as I was late to the party,What I heard was that the allocations were all time I have to be faster. Best, Ahmed
Not being to get one.

Thanks for the insightful write up Mark. Love the 5650g but hitting brick walls where ever I try to get one . Iqbal
Yes, this is another tough one to get

I tried also but at least seeing it here on the forum from time to time is nice too. Year after year, we find watches that we really would like to have, thus I know that there will certainly be more to come in the future Thanks for you kind comments! Best...
Very thorough, Mark.

Good job. Let me add that this old man has grown to love the 5320. My first impression was of an over-complicated, over-priced Pilot Watch. But having seen many, many pictures, and then seeing it live in NYC I find it to be a very, very attractive Perpetu...
Thanks for your report, Mark.

5131P really gives me sleepless nights. It's absolutely breathtaking. I used to dislike this bracelet but on 5131P it really looks awesome. Without the bracelet, the watch would loose a lot of its special appearance and presence. Best, Volker
This 5131P piece seems to appeal very much to many
By: Mark in Paris : September 13th, 2017-15:27
and the bracelet brings the model in a new era where its coherence is something very special in the 5131 line. We see those watches quite often here but they are very unique and a rare kind of craftmanship in traditional watchmaking. Thanks Volker Best, M...
very nice, but!?

Thank you Mark! Great! But why are you wearing gloves in every picture?!
It was the Patek presentation in Paris!
By: Mark in Paris : September 20th, 2017-10:05
Last year they provided white gloves while this year they were brown (they help not putting finger prints everywhere and cleaning quickly the watches that were touched by other people attending). I must say that the brown ones change the size and the look...

We feel the same about this 5960G
By: Mark in Paris : September 23rd, 2017-12:06
and I think that many here who could see them feel also quite attracted by this novelty. The dial looks indeed identical to the 5524's and this is something I appreciate as I liked the grainy texture and blue tone. It has all the shine of a nice watch, wi...
