When you hear the name "Rolex" mentioned what is the first word or words that come to your mind?
Wristwatch
Do you see a difference between vintage and modern Rolex? To you - what is the difference and which is better?
Huge difference.
The vintage Rolex are cheap and rough watches, industrial goods of an era in wich technilogies and industrial processes were very poor.
The actual models are far better made, with more performing materials, better refined and convenient details.
There is any element of the vintage models that could be considered better made than those of the new ones, from any point of view.
Would you ever buy a Rolex watch at market value? If yes, under what circumstances. If no, then why?
Yes, i've several Rolex. The circumstances? I like it, i buy it.
Fill in the blank, "Don't buy a Rolex. Buy _____ instead."
Buy what you want and what you like.
One thing I do like about Rolexes is _______.
Robustness and aestethic of the models i like (of course)
Why do you think so many people like and buy Rolex?
Beacuse are status symbols well recognised by the most part of the people, even who is not interested in horology at all, and this make them easy to sell back without loosing too much money when you do it.
They are "safe" and encouraging, so a lot of people - even who could not buy them without weighing on his family budget - is inspired to buy it.
This enlarges a lot the potential request of this "luxury" (but not also) goods, to a target of people who (in theory) could not afford them. It's a small luxury fancy achievable by many.
What do you like about Rolex watches if you are a fan? If you aren’t a fan and would never buy one then why not?
I'm not a "fan", neither i've ever been of anything or anyone other than Jesus Christ (Amen)
I like some their watch and if i can i buy them as i buy or have bought a lot of watches i like/ed from other brands.
